Who We Are

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging

Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Mission

As an organization founded on the values of respect and dignity for every human life; IPH (Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless) is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment where employees, guests, board members, and partners can embrace their full, true, and authentic selves in our local and global communities.

IPH celebrates the different backgrounds, perspectives, and beliefs of staff, guests, Board members, and partners to create transformational change for a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable organization, where all feel a sense of belonging. To fulfill this vision of a more fair and vibrant organization, we commit to taking specific and measurable actions characterized through protection, education, communication, and reflection.

Our Commitment

Activating a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Committee

We have established a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee composed of IPH staff and Board members from different races, ethnicities, backgrounds, perspectives, beliefs, and roles within the agency and community. The collective goal of all members is to lead and advance initiatives focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.

Maximizing Protection & Belonging

We ensure zero tolerance for inequality at IPH, and the agency fosters a brave, safe, and welcoming space for all.

Prioritizing Professional Development

We invest time and resources into creating a workforce that best reflects the individuals we serve. At IPH, we offer knowledge and resources that allow IPH employees to be successful and inclusive leaders, mentors, and advocates for one another and those we serve.

Creating Conditions for Continuous Improvement and Evaluation

We record, measure, and evaluate our progress through the use of employee surveys, evaluations, hiring metrics, group and individual discussion, as well as training outcomes.  The committee is transparent and intentional in communications surrounding the work, outcomes, and goals within diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging as we learn and respond to practices that will help build a more diverse, inclusive, equitable, and vibrant workforce within the agency and in our community.
